Working on this episode, I kept coming back to one thought: when people can't find the content they want, they create it. In 1919, queer people weren't going to see their stories in mainstream cinema. So someone made the film anyway. That took vision, and it took courage, and it nearly vanished from history entirely.
I think that instinct, to look beyond what exists and ask what needs to exist, is one of the most powerful things a creative person can do. What would be great to have? What's missing? Who doesn't see themselves yet? The people behind this film were asking those questions a century ago, and I'm proud to tell their story. They made what they wanted to see, and somehow it survived.
