This Day in Queer History

On this day in 1886, poet Hilda Doolittle was born. Known as H.D., she befriended Freud to understand her bisexuality and lived unapologetically with both men and women, becoming an icon for feminists and LGBTQ+ readers alike.

On this day in 2002, South Africa's Constitutional Court ruled that same-sex couples must be allowed to adopt children jointly, advancing LGBTQ+ family rights on the African continent.
